WHAT YOU CAN DO
The initial stage of the County’s planning process is to gather data on existing conditions, which the County will present at its initial public meetings. From this will come identification of goals and means to achieve the goals in the final Area Plan. We can contribute to this stage of the process by collecting data on what we consider the Placitas Existing Conditions to be. This will in some cases duplicate the data collected by the County, but in others supplement and correct those data. Click here to see a comprehensive list of Existing Condition categories/topics. The above workgroups have been organized to draft position reports regarding important topics for the Placitas Area Plan. Please contact the facilitators of the groups to volunteer and contribute to these reports.
Once draft reports are produced, these will be posted here for comment and discussion. Then there will be one or more OnePlacitas public meetings to determine what the consensus positions are, also where there might not be full consensus. Final reports will be produced and submitted to the county to represent the positions resulting from this process.
The county plans to submit Goals and Recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission by the end of October. This means that to be effective we need to finalize these position reports by the first week of October.
